I have been with 6500's on a 9.4 for a couple of years now. Zero subs. I had 4 9kv.2's (D2) sitting around collecting dust from my quad 9kv.2 install in a 2005 Mazda 3. So, I decided it was time to actually install some of these in my truck. 2 to be exact. With very limited mounting depth, I was thinking 2 sq10's. But with the measurements, I figured I could squeeze the 9kv's.
I already had a 9.4, and a 9.2 sitting in my back room collecting dust as well. So I sat and wondered how I can use what I already had without having to spend another 1,2,3 hundred bucks.
I called a friend, he builds cabinets for a living and volunteers at the fire department at my station. Super nice fella. He built me 2 boxes. Unbelievable craftsman this kid is. 21 or 22 years old. I have seen some of his work, seriously breath taking. Anyway, he built me 2 boxes. Look great.
I had the 6500's on the 9.4 bridged. Super loud, super clean, super set up. I was extremely satisfied, now am clueless why I even wanted subwoofers. So I installed both of the 9kv.s in there new housing's in the truck bridged on the back 2 channels of the 9kv.2 and the 6500's to the front 2 channels.

I am VERY happy with the sound, clarity, etc. BUT at 90% of the volume I am not happy with the output. SOOOOOO....
Since, I have the 9.2 sitting around doing nothing. I decided to do this.
9.4 on my 6500's, bridged. This will put me back to square 1 with my front stage. Me=Happy as a pig in the mud on a hot summer day.
9.2 on my 9kv.2's running stereo from the amp BUT my headunit has a non-fader stereo or mono selection. So I can run this beast mono, but stereo....Make sense? I could bridge it but this would put me at 2 ohms bridged (As to my knowledge this is Not recommended) So I am going to run it non bridged. 200 watts x 2 rms @ 12.5 volts.
For me to do this, I needed some more power supplies. So I went down to a new radio shop who happens to have RE stuff. The first time I have ever seen RE Stuff in person. I did not look for long, I already had what I needed for sound. I needed power stuff. They did not have any D-Blocks

So I got online and ordered a D-Block, 10 feet of 8 awg power wire (this will be the first time EVER running 8 awg. (4 awg from battery to d-block, 8 awg to amps) I have never done this, but according to the website - they recommend it, also I needed more speaker wire and terminals. I went with KnuKonceptz - since I wanted everything to match what I already have. Next vehicle, I am going to used the heavily bragged about eNetic.
Now, why am I re-installing everything????? I simply do not like how I ran the wires the first time.

I can't remember, but I think I was in a hurry. Tomorrow at the fire house, I am going to take my seats out, re-run the RCA's and speaker wires. Remount the 6500 crossovers, add some deadener to the rear wall, re-install the seats, mount the amps under the seats and put the subs back in.
When the rest of my supplies get in, all I would need to do then would be add the D-block, do some connections and wha-lah. I got sound again.
OH----I was tugging on my power wire and it fell out of the amp, hit the seatbelt bolt and blew the fuse.......FIRST TIME I have ever blown a fuse on a power wire. Felt like a rookie.
So, stay tuned, I will take some pictures tomorrow and update you.
PS I started this build/re-install log...simply....because EVERYBODY IS DOING IT!
