Thanks mang!
Yeah, that's the only way it will work! Have had to do that ever since about the 3rd day I owned it back in 1995 or 1996....can't remember exactly.....

Hey gang...need finishing ideas on these little guys.....
My bedroom furniture is mahogany so I want to stay away from traditional brown....was thinking black ash veneer maybe...or maybe a garnet/deep red paint......I just don't want them to be an elephant in the room really.
Ideas?

You paint them gloss white? Sand them 100x and then get frustrated with that, resort to doing white rhino liner and calling it a day.
Though Do something interesting and different, Get crown molding that you like and make them look like little columns.

Nice stuff. But I still really want to build a pair of D8's one day.

Ha. Even if I decided to come pick them up instead of shipping them, probably still couldn't afford it. Plus, I don't have anything big enough to pick them up in. I don't think they'll fit in the trunk of an 01 Malibu.

If the back seat folds you probably could.....I think I got them home in my gf's RSX after the black/clear got sprayed.....I'd probably sell them if the offer was right.....
Been looking to try and build something else. I could always come back to them and build them if I wanted to.....

Id find some nice laminate that matches your other furniture and lam them. Them make a small removable cover out of mdf grill cloth and some grill snaps. Nice and simple, yet sophisticated.

So haven't had a chance to finish these, but brought them into school today for movie days before the break. These speakers are awesome.
Watched the Polar Express. Powered off the T-amp, hooked up to an InFocus projector. Kids were hooked to the movie. teenagers mind you that would normally care less about such a movie. These things rocked the classroom. I didn't even have a chance to hook the sub up because I forgot a **** cord. But I went and picked it up for the rest of the classes today and tomorrow .
Hooray for Christmas!

I hope your speaker wire pictures were taken just for the camera and that is not the permanent type of termination for the wires. If those wires short, boom goes the amp or it'll kick into a "protect mode"...hopefully.
