Ok so this may be a stupid question but here goes. Can I come out of the out puts on the back of the eq2 into two subs? One sub would get the left output and the other sub would get the right output? Or should I get a splitter and go to the two subs from the splitter end?

Thanks

eq.2 is a mono device. Takes l/r in and outputs mono.

I've used it with two subs.

I plan to buy another one and have stereo subs. Some music material doesn't have mono bass, the phase differences end up cancelling a little of the bass when it's summed.

In fact, I'm planning on getting two more. One is in the HT in the basement now, I'd need two more for sub-bass management on the music system.

Kind of wish the cases were narrow enough to put two on a rack shelf...

As CP mentions, the eQ.2 has dual mono outputs.

It accepts stereo inputs for people using stereo pre amps that might not have a mono/subwoofer output. It then sums the L and R inputs to create a single output.
If you are using a mono/subwoofer output from your source, you can plug into either of the Inputs. The dual outputs prevent the need of a y-splitter as well.

You can use a single eQ.2 to run signal to two subwoofers. But of coarse, any adjustments on the eQ.2 will affect both subwoofers the same way. Slight tweaks in phase, level and crossovers can then be adjusted on the amplifier itself.

Ok thanks for the help. One more question. Would it be better to connect a splitter to the mono output on the eq2 and then connect a cable to each sub from that or not use the splitter and just run two cables from the eq2 to the two subs. Would the end result be the same either way you do it. I just don't want to have a negative effect by testing this out.

Use each output from the eQ.2 and go to each subwoofer. No need to do a y-splitter afterwards.

You sound like you plan on using the eQ.2 the exact way it was intended.

Alex, if I am running two subs off one eq2, are you saying to run two rca cables from the outputs of the eq2 and each sub gets one of those cables? Would it be ok to run a splitter on the input of each sub or is that overkill or unecessary?

Thats correct. You can use a splitter going into each subwoofer, but its not needed.
