It wont slide into place... you have to insert it into the trunk, and then rotate it backwards, but then the top of the ring hits the back opening of the trunk and its stuck.. cant get it in all the way. It would physically fit, if the trunkl opening were large enough...

that stinks!!!

im waiting for one of my 9kv.2's so that i can build the baffles... should be here tomorrow. today im just smoothing out all the extra chop mat hairs that got stuck in bad places.

i made a bad decision and decided to use thin cotton for the fabricing instead of fleece or something like that. it didnt stretch, and in turn decided to no stay in place, and wrinkled. im going to need a lot of bondo love...

Well I can fix it, just need to do some cuttin and pryin, and then the box will just have to look different, and the sub face upwards...

just more work... but in the end, it will pwn.

Anyhow, anyone know how/where I can get replacement carpet for the back? That grey is HORRIBLE, I would prefer black... although the contours may prove to be too much trouble...

I am really starting to like my collection of tools...

of course the complete set of hand tools (though I could use more 3/4" sockets), also my pride and joy metric set of ratcheting wrenches ( I LURVE these).

Ryobi 10" table saw (wish it were wider though, good for up to 10" wide cuts)
Craftsman circle saw
Craftsman 14.4V drill
Ryobi corded Drill (not as fancy but has teh torque!)
Ryobi 6 amp (I think) router with lots of accessories (must have for speaker builders)
Pressure Washer
26 gallon Air Compressor with
air hammer
impact wrench
grav feed spray gun
nail/staple gun (got to use thos to tack down the fleece)
random orbit sander
tire gauge/inflator
cool little air gun thing to shoot people with air @ 100psi
Dremel
10"random orbit buffer (hoping to get the Porter Cable 7336 for My Birthday)
lots of bits and sockets and crap
a neigbor with the same amount of goodies I do, but a different flavor, and we trade whenever we need to, thats how I got to use an angle grinder to cut through about 1/2" of fiberglass (still wasnt easy).

Yeah... Well last time I used more than a gallon, but last time the surface area was MUCH larger... so I will have extra, yay!

could you just cut some of the glass out, IE, a wedge, to lower the total angle and height of the sub so it would fit, then glass it back together after?

That would be MUCH more difficult, but I like your creative thinking. The problem with that idea is it would require me to use too much bondo and sanding in the end. To redo the top half entirely is much easier.

Are you only gonna glass the top half(covered in fleece). 1 gallon could do 10 of those things. I managed with 1 can of small bondo ultimate and i still had some left over.

And my enclosure was at least 2 times the size.
