I'm looking to pick up a jig for the ol router. Which should i go with? Is the router buddy worth the extra $20?

I'll say Jasper once more, just 'cuz it worked great. Just remember its calibrated for the 'hole' size.

I use jasper jigs, but I might try a router buddy (never heard of them before) next. The reason why I say next is because my first jasper jig died an untimely death and the replacement cracked in the same place as soon as I screwed it to the router.

You can see the crack in the plexi if you look near the mounting hole. The old one shattered here and I figure it's just a matter of time before this one bites the bullet.

I like the jasper piece because it is in fixed increments. When you have a jig like the router buddy, you run the risk of it moving during operation. I have a sears jig that works basically the same way as the router buddy, and although it generally gets the job done, it's often just a hair off from what I set it too. This can get a little annoying if you're doing precision work. For precision, the Jasper is definitely the way to go.
