First let me say... I been reading about and window shopping on elemental designs for probably 2 years now after hearing about their Home Theater Speakers on Blu-ray.com and Hidefdigest.com.
But I just bought a Truck (2003 Single Cab Silverado) that I feel like I can finally invest some money into, unlike all my other beaters.
I am really thinking of pulling the trigger on the full system combo
I don't know anything about vehicle mechanics, and I believe even less on Car Audio.... When I break down I dont even open the hood... I usually just call one of my Cousins.
First Question.... What Kinda of Sound should I be expecting? I am just looking for something that can Make me feel the music... Nothing to make my heart pop out my chest... I think 2 10s would be over doing it for me. Most of my music is probably 85% rock type music From the Beatles to Radiohead... I never have understood people flexing the windows in their car. I just want good quality sound.
Second Question, The Components here should fit easily into my doors as Coaxial (I term I just looked up, I don't wanna drill holes in my door for tweeters)
Last I guess anyone have any suggestions on a Single 10inch Sub Box for a Single Cab Silverado? And does Positioning effect bass in a truck like it does in a Home Theater? If I put it behind the Passenger seat will it sound funny?
Thanks

Positioning is less important in a vehicle, though still does have an impact (only worried about by competition type folk.) That package is a heck of a deal and should suit you just fine, esp if you are not worried about crushing bass.
I have a crazy cheap 10" in a make-shift box that satisfies most, I think you would be plenty happy with that package deal.
It's a different experience having an audio setup that allows you a great listening environment. If you really enjoy music, you'll love the clarity and extension of an audio setup like this. Don't be surprised if you get sucked in to wanting more.
What kind of dimensions do you have available for the enclosure? building one is not difficult if it is a sealed or simple ported....

I like to just fill all the space behind the seats besides the Drivers side.... So I still have space back behind me.
I am also looking to mount the amp to the box so I dont have do anymore drilling into the truck as possible.

width, depth, height... you don't want to put the cone right up against anything, and I like to downfire subs in trucks if I can, prevents any kind of accidental damage since typically guys are throwing sht in trucks for storage, carrying, etc. If I wasn't being so dumb and wanted to stuff a 15 in my dad's single cab colorado, it would have been downfiring....

Whelp I pulled the trigger on the Combo system and A2-300 Yesterday....
I figure the combo system leaves me with plenty of room to upgrade if I want, I am thinking already just getting a NINe.2 Amplifier to go along with it and have the Nine.4 just going to the doors.
Sucks though because I know to get it up and running I gotta spend a ton of more money, I don't even have a aftermarket receiver yet, the chime replacement thing, amp wiring kit, sub box and all the little ****.
As for the sub box... I guess I gotta go out and measure behind the seats tomorrow. I don't think I got it in me to make a custom box though... not my type of thing.
I am still debating if I can put all this stuff in myself or if I need to pay one of the local installers. I got plenty of time because it wont be for another month or so before I got the cash to get everything I need. Just worried if I pay someone else to do it... they will do it half ass and If I do it since i know nothing Ill screw it up.

People on here can build you the box (like me!) if you give dimensions and what you need/want.
For installation, do it yourself. Post pics and we'll guide you through. I will NEVER pay a shop again for just about anything. maybe a fuse. If you have basic tools and a smidge of common sense, you can do this.

I fell asleep yesterday, before I got out there with a measuring tape. Right now am Just looking at something like this Sub Box but then Id have to put the amp under the seat or something.
Anyone have suggestions on some How to Videos or anything like that? Something on Youtube? Just so I can pick up some basics.....
Also should I go ahead and get a Nine.2 for the Sub it self? and leave the nine.4 just for the fronts? I am thinking if I am going to do this I need to do it right the first time.
Right now I am looking at these Head Units..... Anything I need to looking for when buy one?
Alpine-iDA-X305
KIV-700 Kenwood
MVH-P8200 Pioneer
If you noticed they all dont have CD Mechs.... I dont think ill be needing one. The Kenwood and Pioneer dont come out until April I was going to wait and check those out before I bought anything.
Also any suggestions on Amp Kits? I really don't even know where to start there.
Thanks Again for the replies.

Welp I just bought a B stock Nine.2 from The New Kid..... Which I plan to use exclusively for the 11kv and give the e3.65i the Nine.4.
I bought Infinity Kappa 4x6 for the rear which will be on the Headunit only. 70 Bucks
As far as Amp wiring I went with.... 85 Bucks Rockford-Fosgate Dual Amp Kit\
I still havent decided what to do about the Sub box
and I am on the fence with my Head Unit... On how much money I wanna spend and do I wanna wait for the Kenwood to come out in May.
Now for a question..... When I set the Gain on the Sub it should be 40v on the Multimeter with a 50hz tone at 85% volume and I should have the LPF on?
As for the Components... The Nine.4 is a little much from what I understand and the gain should be turn down to 21.9V (120watts each) 85% volume and the Amp set to Full but what tone do I use for them?
I am ready to get all this stuff in.... All this stuff is adding up, I am ready to see if all the money am spending is worth it.

I set the volume to the max level I would ever listen to it and tune from that point... that way I prevent myself from getting stupid, cranking it and damaging a speaker...
LPF on.

I think for components you want to use something like Cory said, though I may use 100 or 120.
I set my gains and HPF for my comps around 90 - 100Hz by ear. you don't want to over-excursion them, so I would think the lower the better. definitely no lower than pitt mentioned.....

I've used 1000 hertz before since it's near the middle of the frequency range as far as octaves are concerned (62.5-1000 = 4 octaves, 1000 - 16,000 = 4 octaves) but I've heard other people use 1000 hertz so I go with it. Is it the right way? No idea

Use all three if you want, and just keep the gains set with whatever one has the dial the lowest. This way you know you are safe.
