Ok, first a little background. Got into car audio back in early 80's when it all began. Started with original Rocford / Orion / Kicker stuff. Turned into a career for the next 15+ years. Competed on the IASCA circuit in early 90's and went to nationals a few times under Linear Power sponsorship. A few cars published in early 90's. Basically retired from car audio about 10 years ago and kept up very little. Seems like all the good ols companies have gone to ****..and a bunch of new ones were born... circle of life I spose. I decided i wanted to put some "moderate" stuff in my new Silverado crew cab. Just a little something better than stock. So I thought............
I built a downfiring sealed box (the ole man still has box building skills) for an Kicker SL8 I had, put some Polk DB's in the doors (after deadening) A pioneer HU I had (4v pre outs) and an MTX 6304. That Satisfied me for about a week. I first decided I needed more bass, so after much research I ordered 2 b stock SQ10's, awaiting their arrival. I also want to chanege the amp to a nine.4 and replace tho Polks. I think I'll do the amp next as I am on a budget from the wifey (which I already blew). How dependable are the b stock amplifiers? Worth the savings? I REALLY don't like the sound of the MTX amp on front stage so I hope this will be a big improvement. I listen to a variety of stuff...classic rock, pop, old school hip-hop, country and Radio Disney (LOL 3 kids). I really want good balnced sound, but like to get a little ghetto on occassion.
Since I am on a limited budget, and for that matter limited space, What can I expect from this set-up. SQ10's will be in sealed .76 cu ft. Half of Nine.4 on those.
Some other questions but this will be a start. I plan to use this forum extensively.
Thanks in advance.

The SQ10s are not rain-makers but they will hit in a proper box, it all depends on your tastes. I have a Nine.4 and a Nine.1 that I bought b-stock/used from ED and another user and they have been working just fine for the past 3-4 years. If you want the warranty, go new. The 100 watts per SQ10 should get them going but they are slim subs and might not satisfy your bass needs but you won't find that out until you get them installed.

I've got an '07 F150 that I am attempting to stuff (2) 11k's under the rear seats. If I ever get some time to install these, I will post a build thread.

Well now I'm rethinking the sub stage. Becided I could fit a 11kv2 or 2 sq10's I see the
11kv2 has a little more xmax. What are the real differences between the two drivers? Pro/cons of one 11kv2 vs. 2 sq10's? If I go the 11kv2 route i'll jump on the Full System Combo Special , which is just a crazy awesome deal.
Thanks again.

Time for an update. Box is built, just need to carpet. Waiting on arrival of equipment tommorrow to verify fit (fingers crossed). Internal volume is .6 after driver displacement.
Wood cut and tools ready
Assembled, glued and caulked
Double thickness baffle and recessed cut-out
3 coats of sound deadener sprayed to interior. Cuout for terminal cup filled with silicone.
Chevy bowtie attached
Bottom painted black to blend with carpet.
Together. Angled edges on bump out area
Not my neatest work but limited work area/tools, and carpet will cover!
Now if FedEx will just hurry up!

ax and sledgehammer were "just in case"...and for laughs.
Not installed yet.
Deadener is to make the box as resonant free as possible...use to do it back in the day...
Here it is all cleaned up.

This is where the sledgehammer comes into play...
Just kidding! Give ED a call and they'll take care of it

I contacted ed immediately. They said they'll ship one out Monday, which means I wont get it til Thursday. Not too happy about that but what can I do.... One of the drawbacks of not buying from a local shop I guess.
