OK, central location for all photography-related stuff, post photos for show/critique, post links to good tips, buying advice...hopefully this can turn out to be a goldmine of a thread.

DIY Light box

There are some awesome pictures and suggestions in that thread. This is something that doesn't require a DSLR...even a basic P+S can take good pictures with some effort and knowledge.

Also, a suggestion for the thread...

When posting a picture, please share camera settings to try to help teach other viewers how you accomplished your shots.

Stuff like ISO, shutter speed, WB setting, aperture, lens, camera, etc.

Thanks!

Very nice dude, the mood of that pic is great! It looks like the background to the opening of a Castlevania game, where the text prologue to the game will scroll by.

Absolutely! This shouldn't be stressed enough...the awesomeness of your camera and its ability to take a great shot is equivalent to the awesomeness of an author's pen and its ability to write a great story. In other words...its all you.

A pretty cool pic my wife took.

Until we can get a nice digital she uses my +20 yr. old Sears KSX (Pentax made) 35mm manual. She's a member and admin. at The Photobox. Check it out, there's some cool stuff there, although they could use some more traffic. URL: http://p100.ezboard.com/bthephotobox

Scott, the top third of your first pic looks like the poster/prints they sell at Target.

Don't read that as an opinion, in either direction. Just an observation. I still like the "Knob Creek" shot.
