I just ripped out the interior of the ford ranger, Im going to use 2/0 guage wire for my power wire Should I try to run that through the interior to the bed of the truck or the bed of the truck, or should i put a wire through a pipe and run it to the bed under the truck. But this is the question, Should i try to find a air compressor for the air bags, that runs off the engine so im not using battery power. I have 2 nine.1's and 2 160v.2 that im going to put in a cutthrough of the truck and have about 5 cu.ft of box area mabe 7 to work with.

This truck is white, and im wanting to paint it red or black, what is your opinion? Im working on new interior right now. What kind of sand paper should i use to remove the paint so i can primer. ( Family member has a paint shop).

Woah....

You have a lot of work ahead of you. Run the wire inside the cab.

Not sure what you mean about air compressor.

Let the paint shop primer your truck. Black on trucks is boss.

ok so wait, your truck already has bags? or are you planning to put bags on it? and DONT use a compressor that runs off the belts, it'll rob you of horsepower and they're never built very well anyway. buy an airmanagement kit from www.suicidedoors.com they're probably the best referred to site for air suspension.

also, why are you running 2/0 through the cab? is your batt in the bed?? cause 2/0 seems huge for amp duty!

and for running the wires, rangers (and most other american rigs) use C frames, and generally thats a great place to run your power wires. thats where I ran mine (i have a 93 ranger). just clean the **** outta the frame rails, and use zipties as often as possible to secure the wires.

like i said earlier, get an electrical pump, not a mechanical one. also, if you're running TWO 9.1's AND bags, you definitely need a highamp alternator, hell i'd probably even look into a 2nd batt with isolator.

as for painting, if a family member already has a body shop, let them do all the prep. they'll have the proper tools to make it look good. if you're hell bent and loco enough to do it yourself, start with a lower grit and work your way up, just like sanding anything else. but that seems like a HUGE undertaking for a 91 unless its going to be a perfect showcar, but if you're wanting to get all the paint off, have it sandblasted. if it were me... i'd just repair what body work needs to be done (including sanding and bondo) and respray it over.

i know a ****load about rangers, so if you have anymore questions, lemme know

edit: if you runt he power wires through the framerails, be SURE to use at least one layer of tubing taped very often.

The reason im doing this is because I have resources, my dad works for goverment as a foreman iron worker, so he is very skilled as a welder and cutter for metal, that is where the bagging will come in handy. The family member that does the painting is in his 60's and he wont be getting paid for it so he told me as long as i done the prep work he would look over my work then paint it for me as long as i paid for everything. The 2/0 wire I used in my other car ( I get it for free from my father ).

Guestimation how much do you think sandblasting will cost? I work on it just about every day after school, sunday i replaced spark plugs and wires and repaired some wires that are worn, yesterday I tore out interior, tomorow im working on brakes. Then im going to start prep work for painting.

Horsepower isnt a big issue since it is a 4 cylinder, but when it dies im wanting to put a 5.0 mustang motor in it.

Mostly the reason im doing this is because all the work is for this truck is mostly coming out of me, some from my father, and some from my grandfathers.

doing your own work is the best way to learn, and you get the most pride out of a job well done
